Rangers have been a part of the National Trust since the beginning. As part of the wider Ranger team you will need to think about our impact on the environment and find more environmentally friendly ways of doing things.

Ashridge is the largest woodland owned and managed by the National Trust. Virtually all of this beautiful 2000 hectare estate is specially designated for its wildlife and archaeological significance. The woodlands here come in many forms – plantations for growing timber, naturally self-set trees, ornamental plantings and stunning old trees. There are vast areas of chalk downland grazed extensively by cattle and sheep. Ashridge is a place of wildness, fresh air, freedom and tranquillity for thousands of visitors every year.
