Overview

WildTeam is looking to recruit a Chief of Party (COP) for its Bagh Project funded by the USAID. This role will contribute to the successful delivery of WildTeam’s TigerTeam initiative and organisational strategy and sustainability plan by leading the successful delivery of the USAID Bagh Activity and cost share components.The CEO of WildTeam will be the home office manager of the COP. The COP will represent WildTeam to the USAID.

The post holder will be responsible for the following responsibilities:

  • Ensure the project is in compliance with all USAID cooperative agreement rules, requirements and regulations and with WildTeam’s strategies, policies and procedures.
  • Lead the WildTeam staff and partners to successfully deliver the Bagh Activity according to the outlined schedule, results framework, and budget and in line with organisational project management processes.
  • Track and report to WildTeam and USAID on programmatic and financial progress on a monthly and quarterly basis against work plans and budget as per reporting requirements.
  • Oversee program monitoring and evaluation design and effective implementation, including ensuring a focus on achieving measurable conservation impact.
  • Cultivate relationships between WildTeam and stakeholders as needed to support both the successful delivery of Bagh Activity and an ongoing positive relationship of WildTeam and those stakeholders post-Bagh Activity completion.
  • Support the development of WildTeam’s organisational strategy and sustainability plan and achieve the results identified therein as targeted for completion under the Bagh Activity.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the WildTeam’s policies, and applicable laws.

 

Minimum job requirements

  • Master’s or PhD in wildlife management, natural resource management, environmental management, ecology, environmental science, or any other relevant field.
  • Senior level professional with a minimum of 12 years in managing USAID funded large, complex biodiversity conservation, natural resource management, or climate change projects in developing countries.
  • International experience in developing countries.
  • Proven leadership in the administration of similar activities with skills in strategic planning, management, supervision and budgeting. Extensive experience working with the USG or international donors is critical.
  • Proven experience and knowledge in promoting the role of gender in wildlife and/or biodiversity conservation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and develop a network of contacts among international donor officials, GoB, and non-government staff.
  • Evidence of excellent skills in intercultural communications and proven experience in facilitating dialogue, coordination, and collaboration in wildlife and/or biodiversity conservation. Possesses a demonstrated ability to establish strong working relationships with senior representatives of national and local government, the private sector and civil society.
  • Should have the right attitude to own the WildTeam and have proven track record to contribute for the development of an organisation.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and orally, is essential. Knowledge of Bangla will be treated as an additional qualification.
