The British Antarctic Survey (BAS), part of the Natural Environment Research Council, aims to undertake a world-class programme of scientific research, and to sustain for the UK an active and influential regional presence and a leadership role in Antarctic affairs.

We are looking to appoint a Chief Officer to
(a) Management of boating, cargo, deck equipment and deck operations.
(b) To be the Head of the Deck Dept. - Manage Junior Deck Officers & Deck crew
(c) Management and maintenance of all ship fabric outside machinery spaces.
(d) Management of stability, deadweight, draught and trim.
(e) Management of a navigational and port watch and shipboard security .
