The internship is a multi-purpose position that rotates through five distinct sections within North Sterling State Park including: 1) interpretation/environmental education (I/EE); 2) aquatic nuisance species (ANS) inspector; 3) limited commission park ranger; 4) maintenance worker; 5) entrance attendant. While working in the I/EE section, the intern will assist the GOCO funded interpreter in preparation of a wide variety of interpretive programs, getting equipment together, assisting participants and presenting programs. In the ANS section, the intern will assist boat inspectors at boat ramps, educating boaters of the dangers of transporting aquatic nuisance species from one body of water to another, while explaining steps that should be taken to minimize the risk.
