Overview

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced conservationist to deliver an exciting habitat restoration project on Walney Island. Working alongside the Morecambe Bay Partnership and Natural England, with funding from WREN, the post holder will oversee the restoration of sand dune habitats across four sites as part of the Dunes of Barrow project. The role will involve overseeing and delivering the project and maintaining a close working relationship with our partners.

The post holder will also be responsible for the wardening of the Trust’s South Walney nature reserve on a day to day basis. This will involve managing the visitor experience, maintaining the infrastructure, carrying out monitoring of species and habitats and managing a team of volunteers.

The post holder is required to live on site and be available 24 hours per day with regular weekend and evening work in the summer months.
