This is a new and very exciting opportunity, reporting to the Trust Director you will be responsible for ensuring the protection of remaining key populations of freshwater pearl mussels on the River Irt in West Cumbria and the restoration of habitat to support natural recruitment. In addition you will put in place mechanisms to deliver the conditions necessary to secure the long term conservation of this species and communicate with local communities to raise awareness of freshwater pearl mussel conservation.
