Hosted by Natural England, the Conservation Assistant role is a year-long structured training programme for graduate volunteers to consolidate skills and knowledge in applied conservation management. This is a central component and delivery method of the www.moorthanmeetstheeye.org scheme, with conservation assistants spending equal time at East Dartmoor NNR and with MTMTE project partners on the eastern side of Dartmoor National Park. Experience will be gained in practical habitat and countryside management, biological and archaeology surveying and monitoring as well as public events and engagement with local community groups, schools and universities.
