Enthusiastic, dedicated, and physically fit avian field technician needed in the lowland forests of southern Belize from approximately 6 Jan until April 7. Data collection activities will include point counts, vegetation measurements, and some exposure to banding. The work will also include clearing vegetation for many net lanes and hiking through a varied landscape. Techs often work independently with a local park warden to accomplish assigned goals. Applicants should also be prepared to spend long, humid days in the forest alongside a stunning diversity of organisms, including chiggers, sand flies, botflies, mosquitoes, and venomous snakes. While housing will be provided, frequent camping will be required.
