The Department of Biology at Pittsburg State University is recruiting a M.S. student to study forest bird ecology in the Missouri Ozarks. The student will join an interagency team working with the Missouri Ozark Forest Ecosystem Project (MOFEP). Now in its 27th year, MOFEP is a collaborative, landscape-scale experiment designed to evaluate the effects of forest management on birds and other wildlife. The student will work toward established research objectives within the MOFEP framework, and will have additional opportunities to develop independent projects. Current research priorities include understanding how songbird communities and individual species respond to management systems over broad spatial scales and long time periods.
