Program Description:

The HSWRI Aquaculture Research Program has been investigating the feasibility of culturing fish for enhancement and traditional farming for more than 35 years (www.hswri.org). HSWRI is actively stocking white seabass into the ocean in southern California and has conducted pilot releases of other species like halibut and cabezon. There is currently significant interest from user groups and management agencies to involve HSWRI in feasibility assessments for enhancement of other fish species in southern California, the Gulf of Mexico, and the east coast of the United States.
