Description: Qualified raptor surveyors sought to conduct exploratory migration counts on mountain and ridge tops in western Utah from Sep 1 – Oct 31, 2015. Surveyors will work in teams of two during 5-day survey blocks, weather permitting. Migration surveys will occur at multiple sites without previous survey history (i.e., the potential for low or no migration passage exists and support infrastructure will not be present). Surveyors will work in pairs and camp near count sites in remote settings with minimal nearby services and spotty or no cell coverage. A 4-WD truck and some equipment will be provided. Lodging will be provided in Salt Lake City when not in the field and motel lodging will be provided for up to 5 weather days.
