A unique opportunity for an enthusiastic ranger to;

Develop a programme of wildlife events, including guided walks and talksLiaise with the Isle of Eigg Heritage Trust and the islands farmers and crofters on wildlife matters
Organise a programme of wildlife monitoring
Organise a volunteer programme to do a range of practical conservation tasks
Prepare an annual report and other material to promote the wildlife of Eigg
The postholder must have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively but sensitively within a small community and will be required to be resident on the island for the duration of the contract.

This post is eligible for a Disclosure Scotland check and membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme.

Applicants for all posts should be education to HNC level in Countryside Management (or similar) with experience in delivering public events and wildlife site management. Commitment to nature conservation, good communication skills, enthusiasm and self-motivation are essential.  The positions will require regular weekend, evenings and public holiday working.

A full driving licence will be an advantage.

Starting Salary: £14,250 per annum depending on experience and responsibilities afforded each post.

Status: all posts are based on a fixed term contract with full-time working hours (35 hours per week) unless otherwise stated.  Job-share applicants will be welcomed.
