Do you want to gain experience in surveying for bats? I am an experienced bat ecologist based in Bury, just north of Manchester who needs self-employed ecologists (or volunteers with a professional approach, receiving travelling expenses), to help with dusk and pre-dawn visits;  mainly to observe for bat emergence from and return to buildings. You need to be based no more than 60  minutes’ drive from BL9 and, due to the unsocial hours and different site locations, have your own transport, though we car share where possible. Experience of watching bats in flight and/or using a heterodyne bat detector is useful. Punctuality, reliability and good concentration skills are vital, along with an ability to record simple data efficiently. You will
