Working collaboratively with Lake Mead National Recreation Area (LMNRA), the Great Basin Institute is recruiting interns to assist in the control of non-native plants along the shoreline of Lake Mead and Lake Mohave to enhance visitor access and camping experience.  Work will include identification of native and non-native plants of the desert southwest; control of non-native plants using mechanical and chemical methods; surveying for rare or unusual native plants to assist in site treatment prioritization; and leading volunteer groups on weed control projects. The members will use a GPS unit and camera to document weed presence and control actions performed.
