We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Apprentice to join our diverse Parks and Open Spaces Team.

We are offering a two year apprenticeship, working alongside our team to deliver great projects on our parks and open spaces.

The work will be varied and challenging, from vegetation management with volunteers to grant applications for new projects, school educational sessions and woodland surveying. Building on existing environmental conservation experience, the successful candidate will work with volunteers and partners to make a difference in South Lakeland.

The candidate should have a keen interest in conservation and green spaces, with practical experience of various grounds maintenance activities supported with the appropriate tickets such as spraying and chainsaw licenses.

This apprenticeship includes college study and block study sessions at Askham Bryan College, York, to achieve Level 3 City and Guilds Environmental Conservation.

A driving license or the means to travel around the district is required.
