Annual stipend and full tuition waiver - START 08/15/17 A MS position is available in the Davenport lab to study the spatial ecology of alligator snapping turtles (Macrochelys temminckii) in west Tennessee. The research will focus on juvenile habitat selection of repatriated populations. Coursework will be carried out at Southeast Missouri State University and the field season will be from April-September in Tennessee. The student will use telemetry to understand macro-scale habitat characteristics of alligator snapping turtles along with basic breeding biology. The student will also have the opportunity to participate in region wide turtle surveys during the summer and engage with researchers from the TN Aquarium Conservation Institute.
