The Illinois Natural History Survey, a division of the Prairie Research Institute at the University of Illinois is seeking applicants for Telemetry Field Technicians. Applicants will assist in the translocation of Greater Prairie-chickens from Kansas to Illinois. Some travel out of Illinois will be required. Duties include assisting with trapping, banding and radio tagging of birds in Kansas during March and April and radio tracking translocated birds once released in Illinois. Additional duties include attending leks before sunrise and re-sighting banded birds, driving throughout the area searching for radio-tagged birds, locating and monitoring nests and broods, vegetation surveys, and entering and managing data.
