Abbotsford, the home of Sir Walter Scott, is recruiting for an experienced Ranger with Countryside Management qualifications or Forestry Management. The post requires an immediate start to manage the implementation of a major ‘Woodlands In and Around Towns’ grant across our 120 acres of designed landscape, and to undertake duties to maintain the estate, encourage biodiversity, and contribute to developing and delivering a wide ranging programme of activities involving the local community and visitors. Line managed by the Gardens Heritage Development Manager, the successful candidate will combine skills in administration and the written word, experience of working with contractors, and excellent verbal communication skills.
