In cooperation with the National Park Service Joshua Tree National Park (JOTR), the Great Basin Institute is recruiting to hire an experienced Data Management Specialist. This is not a field position.  JOTR has a need to stay current with data management processes and technologies, and the park’s Science and Resource Stewardship (SRS) is seeking to update legacy data sets. The Specialist will work with JOTR staff to organize project data and reports, manage files and spatial data, and assist with summarizing legacy conservation efforts related to a broad spectrum of projects including, but not limited to, wildlife, cultural, and travel management. More specifically, the Specialist will:
  • Work with NPS staff to establish standard operating procedures for effective data manage
