The Department of Recreational Services offers a variety of programs for UI students, faculty/staff and members of the Iowa City community.  Program areas include Intramural Sports, Fitness, Lesson Programs, Outdoor Rental Center, Tennis, Rowing, Sport Clubs, Environmental Education, and open recreation.  There are seven indoor facilities including the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center, Field House, Hawkeye Tennis & Recreation Center, Fitness East, Beckwith Boathouse, and Recreation Building.  Outdoor facilities include the Hawkeye Recreation Fields, Hawkeye Softball Complex, and the 485-acre Macbride Nature Recreation Area. Many of these facilities are multi-use, shared facilities with Athletics and other departments.

This position will manage the natural resources and maintenance of the 485-acre Macbride Nature Recreation Area and related facilities.  Responsibilities include implementation of timber stand improvement plan, prairie preservation and restoration, and trail and road maintenance and/or development.

  Salary and Benefits:

  • $40,202 to commensurate.
