This project helps alleviate the suffering of animals in impoverished communities and at any given time, has upward of 300 dogs, cats, puppies and kittens. Volunteers are always needed to assist with all manner of animal related tasks. For example: working one-on-one with the cats, kittens, dogs and puppies; accompanying rescue personnel during call-outs; accompanying shelter staff during mobile clinics; assisting in the shelter clinic (veterinary care); assisting in the office; general maintenance (repairs to the kennels and cattery, painting, carpentry and general repairs); and gardening work. There is no cost to participate but volunteers need to cover their own living expenses (accommodation, food, etc). Please visit the FAQs section of the Volunteer 4 Africa website (
