Need 2-4 field assistants to aid in a new joint postdoctoral/masters research examining the effects of urbanization on genetic and behavioral change in an isolated caracal (Caracal caracal) population in Cape Town, South Africa. Volunteers will be expected to work approximately 40 hours/week, 5 days/week.

Fieldwork will primarily entail scouting trap sites, setting and monitoring cage traps to capture individuals to radio-collar and track them, investigating kills sites, and setting and monitoring remote cameras. There is a strong genetic component to the study and so there is the possibility to assist with laboratory work, but will not be the primary responsibility of volunteers. Data entry and participation in social media efforts (blog writing) will also be expected.
