A volunteer is needed for a period of 12 months to help undertake a long-term research project on Cape ground squirrels in the Kalahari Desert, South Africa.

This project has been set up by Cambridge and Zurich University and is based at the Kalahari Meerkat Project, a world-renowned research station.

Students with a BSc in biology/ecology or zoology are preferred.

Successful applicants must have an interest in field work and previous experience working in challenging environments and with wild animals.

The applicant will be expected to be heavily involved in habituation of new groups as well as collection of weights and observational data. There is also an opportunity for the applicant to undertake a small research project on the squirrels.
