We are looking for someone with a passion for wildlife and wetland conservation to help manage one of the UK's top estuary sites for birds. RSPB established a reserve at Marshside in 1994 and later purchased Hesketh Out Marsh, further up the estuary in 2006, followed by Hesketh Out Marsh East in 2014. This is one of the largest 'managed reallignment' sites in the UK. Marshside is the most extensive coastal grassland site on the Ribble Estuary and attracts up to 40,000 birds in winter and holds some of the highest densities of breeding waders in England. Visitor facilities are modest, but Marshside already attracts 25,000 visitors and the Ribble Discovery Centre at Lytham a further 50,000 visitors every year.
