The Water Chestnut Field Coordinator participates in water chestnut identification and hand-pulling control techniques in remote wetlands.

This is a full-time, short-term position with employment duration June 25-August 26, 2015. Housing is available if needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Organizing/coordinating/leading workdays, sometimes leading volunteers, in wetland sites
  • Compiling and entering data on volunteer hours and water chestnut harvest
  • May assist in recruiting and thanking volunteers, writing letters, posting flyers, placing public service announcements, and coordinating with summer youth camps
  • Training volunteers in water chestnut identification and hand-pulling control techniques
