A graduate research assistantship (MS) investigating the effects of military noise on singing in golden-winged and blue-winged warblers is available in the Department of Biological Sciences at Western Michigan University. The applicant will work with a collaborative team including Dr. Sharon Gill and Dr. Maarten Vonhof from Western Michigan University and army biologists to monitor and record singing males and conduct experiments to understand how birds adjust their vocalizations in response to military noise. The successful applicant will be responsible for planning and implantation of data collection in the field, analyzing data, presenting results at meetings and conferences, and publishing research findings.
