Description: West Virginia University’s Division of Forestry and Natural Resources is seeking 2 technicians to assist with grassland/early successional bird point-count surveys, loggerhead shrike surveys, and vegetation sampling in West Virginia and Virginia beginning in April and continuing through June and possibly into early July. These data are being collected to 1) determine the status of loggerhead shrikes in West Virginia and Virginia, and develop surveys to better detect loggerhead shrikes 2) assess habitat use and occupancy of loggerhead shrikes in West Virginia and Virginia, and 3) develop multi-species occupancy models for grassland and early successional birds.
