Maine’s Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife is looking for a wildlife field technician to assist in a study designed to assess characteristics of survival and mortality of white-tailed deer, in Maine. The successful applicant will work with a team leader to employ Clover traps, rocket nets, drop nets, and/or dart gun, to capture and subsequently apply GPS collars to white-tailed deer. Other duties may include assisting with necropsies, assessing deer wintering areas, assessment of nutritional status of the animals, and helping to maintain relations with landowners.
