Overview

The Luc Hoffmann Fellows Coordinator will be responsible for developing and managing the Luc Hoffmann Fellows Program (https://luchoffmanninstitute.org/fellows/), an international, co-mentored post-doctoral fellowship program dedicated to increasing conservation science leadership capacity around the world.  The fellows program will consist of 7 to 14 international fellows, each working within their own co-mentoring relationships, based within academic partners institutions around the world. The Fellows Coordinator will build capacity within the Luc Hoffmann Fellows Program by recruiting top talent from under-served regions into the fellow’s program.

Main responsibilities:

  • Build a strong global pool of top research talent for the Luc Hoffmann Fellows program by developing a robust network of relationships with global and regional research communities in the fields of conservation, environmental science, social and behavioural sciences, and environmental economics.
  • Find and recruit top emerging scholars into the Luc Hoffmann Fellows program, focusing on potential candidates with strong connections to rapidly developing regions where conservation science leadership is most needed (Africa, South-east Asia, the Middle East, South America, Central America and Eastern Europe)
  • Organize in person and virtual Fellows meetings, develop mentoring and co-mentoring policies, and work with the fellows and communication staff and consultants to build and maintain a robust on-line presence (blogs, social media etc.) for the Luc Hoffmann Fellows.
  • Connect Luc Hoffmann Fellows with key people within the WWF network
  • Manage the fellows training budget, and work within a team to develop and manage funding proposals that expand the Luc Hoffmann Institute Fellows training program

What you need:

Required Qualifications, Skills and Competencies

  • Advanced degree in Biology, Ecology, Social Science or Environmental Economics
  • Experience developing partnerships, managing multidisciplinary teams and managing remote teams
  • Demonstrated experience in Science to Policy / Science to Practice Interface work, or related work in Science Communications or Science leadership
  • Experience working with remote, globally distributed teams
  • Available for international travel, up to 40% of the time
  • Ability and enthusiasm for on-deadline, short timeline tasks
  • Fluency in English
  • Discretion, reliability, flexibility, accuracy
  • Ability to work in multicultural environment
  • Capacity to work independently in an intense team environment
  • Exceptional people skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • A good sense of humour
