About Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund

For over 55 years the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund has successfully led conservation activities in east/central Africa to protect gorillas and help local communities.  The Fossey Fund’s integrated conservation approach includes: 1) protecting gorillas and their forest ecosystems; 2) conducting the cutting-edge science to inform conservation strategies; 3) training the next generation of conservationists; 4) building resilient communities through livelihood, food security and education activities.  Their motto is Helping People, Saving Gorillas and is founded in the understanding that supporting local communities, the stewards of the gorilla’s habitat, is crucial for successful and sustainable conservation.
