Overview

The Ambios nature conservation traineeship provides the foundation skills required for a career in nature conservation.  Trainees are based at Lower Sharpham Farm in the picturesque Dart River Valley, South Devon, where they will live and work with a team of fellow trainees. Trainees are immersed into farm life, gaining practical skills ranging from fencing to food growing, survey skills, land management techniques, plant & bird ID courses, working with different groups of people, as well as field trips and working with a range of conservation organisations. The traineeship can count toward university credits for students. Erasmus+ funding can also be accessed (please speak to your university)

  • Winter: 2nd January – 23rd March (FULL)
  • Spring: 2nd April – 22nd June (Limited availability)
  • Summer: 2nd July – 21st September
  • Autumn: 1st October – 21st December
