In this role
The Banrock Station Ranger Ecologist is responsible for supporting the delivery of the Banrock Station Ramsar Management plan.

Key accountabilities include

  • Contribute to the delivery of the annual revegetation program including seed collection, propagation and operation of the onsite native nursery
  • Maintain local infrastructure including undertaking repairs to boardwalks, bird hides and feral proof fencing
  • Undertake monitoring activities flora, fauna and water flow and quality
  • Support the control of pest plants and animals
  • Supervise the work undertaken by contractors and volunteers
  • Support the collection of data and preparation of reports including updates on environmental initiatives and related programs

Other accountabilities include

  • Actively engage in and comply with all Accolade Wines SEQ policies and  procedures

Essential knowledge and skills are

  • Technical proficiency with the application and maintenance of equipment and tools typically utilised for vegetation management and infrastructure maintenance related activities
  • Well-developed communication and report writing skills
  • Experience with biodiversity monitoring and reporting
  • Ability to work unsupervised

Required experience is

  • Operational experience in project or field-based activities involving environment management or related activity

Essential qualifications are
Essential

  • Certificate IV qualifications in environmental studies or higher
  • Valid drivers licence and ability to operate manual vehicles
  • Hold relevant permit to Work with Children (or an ability to obtain one)
  • Hold relevant permit / accreditation for chemical use (or an ability to obtain)
  • Chainsaw accreditation (or an ability to obtain)
