Job description To carry out work in the field of wildlife ecology and management, focussing on birds and mammals. This will include: survey work, deployment of wildlife monitoring equipment (including bird detection radars), sampling for disease and other research and fieldwork as required. • Undertake surveys and monitor bird populations and their movements and behaviour. • Undertake sampling of birds for disease surveillance as required. • Deploy the department’s bird radar units. • Undertake surveys of mammal populations and research into their ecology, movements and management. • Contribute to APHA’s response to disease outbreaks in wildlife or livestock as needed. • Undertake additional fieldwork duties as required, commensurate with the grade.
