Overview

Tiggywinkles is looking for an enthusiastic and engaging classroom-based teacher to join our Education Department, to teach theory classes to our Animal Management students, as well as carry out practical assessments for their courses.

Tutors will get involved with writing lesson material, delivering lessons, practical assessments, supporting students, tracking and marking coursework, whilst keeping a focus on maintaining the high levels of achievement and onward progression of our students.

Applicants must have the ability to teach across Level 1 to Level 3 Animal Management courses, delivering a range of technical and practical units including Biology, Conservation, Husbandry, Behaviour and Exotics. It is essential to be able to engage and motivate the students, from our beginners to those progressing onto University courses.

All candidates must hold an animal related degree and ideally have some teaching experience, but certainly a passion for teaching is essential.

Ideally, candidates will hold a CAVA/Assessor qualification, and a recognised teaching qualification, but full teacher training will be provided to the right candidate.

The successful applicant will benefit from our generous pension scheme, CPD and free on site parking, as well getting involved with developing and expanding our organisation’s educational offerings. Position is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
