The Roles

Due to sustained growth and recent appointment, we are looking for an additional Arboricultural Consultant or an experienced Arboricultural Surveyor looking for career progression to join our team. You will be joining a dynamic team, and will be expected to be involved in many aspects of the business – from site surveys, reporting, delivering projects and face-to-face client interaction. This is a great opportunity to gain the experience, skills and knowledge needed to impress high-end clients.

The appeal of Thomson is the varied range of projects and opportunities to work with other Thomson disciplines to deliver projects. Our client base ranges from individual homeowners through to large national infrastructure projects. This variety keeps the work interesting and engaging. Our work is nationwide, so you will need to be prepared to travel to different sites and occasionally stay away from home.

What we’re looking for:

  • A passionate experienced consultant that is either working towards or has achieved a QCF Level 4 in arboriculture
  • Membership of the Arboricultural Association or other related, professional body.
  • Relevant tree survey experience within a consultancy or other commercial environment.
  • Experience of undertaking tree hazard/condition surveys using Visual Tree Assessment (VTA) and development surveys in accordance with BS5837:2012.
  • Experience of writing Arboricultural Impact Assessments and Method Statements.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills; be able to produce meticulous and accurate technical reports as well as communicate confidently with clients and stakeholders.
  • Be computer literate with experience of using MS office, GIS systems and tree survey software.
