We are delighted to be offering an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Forestry Consultant (Graduate) to join the consultancy team at Maydencroft Limited. The application window opens in early January and you would join us in Summer 2023.

If you are a recent graduate or working towards your degree in forestry, land management, conservation management, horticulture or similar than this opportunity could be the one for you.

We are a close-knit group of ecological, arboricultural, landscape and forestry consultants working as an integral part of a larger organisation which includes arborists, foresters, estate managers, grounds and landscape operatives and farmers.

The Assistant Forestry Consultant will gain a wide range of experience across a multitude of areas including operational planning, budgeting, contract organisation, forestry grants and regulations, supervision and client liaison.

The successful applicant will gain technical knowledge about the industry and develop their consultancy skills through engagement with our existing high-profile clients within the commercial, public, private, utility and charity sectors.

You will be involved in a range of different projects from organising tree planting to harvesting operations, with a great deal of opportunity to learn from others.
Our Head Forester will be mentoring you as you progress through a structured induction and learning programme, whilst also working with the wider Maydencroft team.

The role is designed to enhance your knowledge of the sector and help you to benefit from first-hand experience. Ongoing training will be provided by the team and Maydencroft’s own Green Skills Training Academy. You will be encouraged to join industry training days and networking events which will be directly discussed with your mentor.

Essential

A recent graduate or working towards a degree-level qualification in Forestry, Land Management, Conservation Management, Horticulture.

Excellent IT and Administration skills, including use of GIS.

Love of the outdoors and the environment.

Have a passion for the environment.

Problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.

An excellent all-round knowledge of trees, woodlands and habitats;

This is a full-time, Monday-Friday position, 22 days holiday entitlement rising annually, Remote working with all equipment provided. Personalised training and development plan with excellent opportunities for career development and progression.

​Due to the rural location of our offices, a full UK driving licence is required with access to transport.
