AIMS studies and monitors a large number of Australia’s marine species that are identified as threatened or endangered species. Many of these species are iconic megafauna ─ such as whales, dugongs, sea turtles, and large sharks and rays ─ and their status often reflects the health and diversity of marine habitats. Reporting to the Senior Research Scientist (Megafauna), your research will focus on enhancing AIMS’ capacity to deliver relevant products to government, industry clients and stakeholders to improve the management of megafauna and threatened species across northern Australia.
