Apogee, Inc. has openings for bat biologists (technicians) for various presence/absence surveys throughout the Midwest and Eastern U.S. The primary responsibilities of this position are to assist crew-leaders and project managers in conducting summer mist-net and/or acoustic surveys for federally threatened and endangered bats. Daily duties will include assisting crew leaders in all facets of summer surveys including, but not limited to: mist-net deployment and operation, identification of eastern U.S. bat species, application of radio-transmitters and bands, maintaining and decontaminating equipment, radio-telemetry, emergence counts, and collection/submittal of precise and thorough data.
