This individual placement is meant to facilitate personal growth and professional development and promotes exposure to land management agencies and networking with agency professionals. This could include gaining experience in a variety of conservation fields and/or shadowing different work groups. The member will provide support and assistance under the guidance and direction of FWS staff in the accomplishment of:
  • Establishing trail cameras in the remote and rugged San Andres mountains.
  • Monitoring camera operability, by ensuring cameras have batteries, equipment remains in place and checking/replacing SD cards.
  • Sorting imagery after acquisition.
  • Assisting with measuring distances between animals captured in images and the cameras imaging
