The Roles

The natural environment sector in the UK is experiencing its greatest change in over 30 years. Emerging legislation and an ever-growing awareness of the global biodiversity crisis means policy makers and developers alike are looking to nature-based solutions to address the challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss, and human health and well-being.

Middlemarch operates at the vanguard of the UK’s response to these challenges and has built a strong reputation and proven track record in the core service areas of ecology and arboriculture. The company has also already established significant expertise in biodiversity net gain, habitat design and offset provision.

An initial period of recruitment in early 2021 has seen our capability and capacity around the provision of nature-based solutions grow significantly. We are now looking to diversify further to take advantage of new opportunities that are emerging as a result of the evolving legislative and policy framework in the UK. We are particularly keen to hear from applicants with the following skills:

  • Land management advice, particularly agroecology and agronomy expertise
  • Biodiversity net gain, including use of biodiversity metrics and design and delivery of net gain solutions
  • Environmental net gain, including experience of using EcoMetric or similar emerging net gain tools
  • Natural capital and ecosystem services evaluation and advice
  • Habitat restoration experience

As a part of our team, you’d be offered a competitive salary in line with your experience and skills, the potential for performance related rewards, pension, and the opportunity for training and continued professional development.

Middlemarch celebrates diversity and inclusivity in the workplace and is committed to providing fair and equal access to opportunities for all candidates.
