Three Rivers District is an attractive mixture of town and countryside, situated in south west Hertfordshire, where the protection and enhancement of trees, woodlands and the landscape have a high priority. The Council is responsible for managing a number of key open spaces across the district, including six Local Nature Reserves including Croxley Common Moor SSSI.

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Community and Environmental Services team for a Biodiversity Projects Officer. Key duties of the post are to be responsible for the strategic management of sites important for wildlife across the District, including responsibility for developing site management plans for all Council-owned Local Nature Reserve sites, using the principles of biodiversity and sustainability.

You should possess enthusiasm, be well motivated and ideally educated to degree level in ecology or a similar related discipline, with experience of countryside management, working directly with the public and developing community projects. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential, as is the ability to cope with a varied workload and minimal supervision.

Salary: £26,999 – £31,371 per annum Plus Benefits
