This position is located at White River National Fish Hatchery in Bethel, Vermont. The hatchery primarily maintains broodstocks of landlocked Atlantic salmon and lake trout to support important fisheries restoration programs in Lake Champlain and the Lower Great Lakes. The incumbent will function as a fisheries biologist with principal responsibilities to include culture, production and distribution of landlocked Atlantic salmon and lake trout. Duties will include spawning of broodstock, care of all stages of fish development, data collection, management, analysis and reporting, maintaining fish culture systems, tanks and raceways, and loading, hauling and stocking hatchery product.
