BirdLife International is the world’s largest nature conservation partnership. Through our unique local-to-global approach, we deliver high impact and long-term conservation for the benefit of nature and people.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to coordinate BirdLife’s flagship project Safe Flyways – stopping illegal killing of birds (IKB) in the Mediterranean. This project unites the work of BirdLife Partners and other NGOs in the region. You will be responsible for the successful implementation of the project, in close collaboration with BirdLife colleagues and others. You will ensure good communication between the different organisations, monitoring of workplans and budgets, and timely reporting to the main project donors. You will work in close collaboration with the project Safe Flyways – reducing energy infrastructure related bird mortality in the Mediterranean, to support the coordinated implementation of the programme of work of a broad coalition of organisations in support of migratory birds conservation in the Mediterranean.  Furthermore, you will be responsible for the administrative management of a limited number of additional conservation projects handled by the Conservation Department.

It is essential that you have experience in the management of complex nature conservation projects, ideally related to illegal killing of birds and/or the Mediterranean. You will have to be well-organised, able to work with people with diverse nationalities and cultural backgrounds, and enjoy contributing to capacity development of individuals and organisations. You must have the right to work in the UK.
