The British Antarctic Survey (BAS) are looking for a Mapping and GIS Assistant during summer 2019. This role will be part of the Mapping and Geographic Information Centre, which provides wide-ranging geospatial expertise in support of BAS Science and Operations programmes. Purpose The main purpose will be to update a series of seven maps and related digital products that support BAS and international Air Operations in Antarctica, and to assist with preparation of maps and GIS products to support scientific fieldwork – for example overland travel by geologists. Qualification Completion, or about to enter the final year, of a first degree in geography, or other environment
