Interns will work in the remote, red-rock wilderness of The Maze district in Canyonlands National Park, which preserves outstanding prehistoric rock art and archeological sites. Duties may include: patrolling the backcountry by foot and 4WD, sometimes for multiple days (camping in remote settings); staffing the backcountry information station, providing trip-planning assistance to visitors; leading guided interpretive walks in Horseshoe Canyon; assisting in the district’s recycling program and/or maintaining fire-fighting equipment; and other duties as assigned, dependent on intern’s skill-set and interest. *It is vital that candidates be comfortable living in a REMOTE setting for extended periods of time with limited human interaction.* Compensation amounts: $1,100 - one t
