Great Basin Institute and USFS Pacific Southwest Region Carnivore Monitoring Program The southern Sierra Nevada population of fisher (Pekania pennanti) is listed as federally endangered and the Pacific marten (Martes caurina) is considered a sensitive species by the National Forests in the region.
