ROLE OVERVIEW The North Coast Cetacean Research Initiative (NCCRI) is a program of the Ocean Wise Conservation Association based in Prince Rupert aimed at better understanding cetacean (whale & dolphin) populations around the North Coast and Haida Gwaii.  Central to this work is supporting and encouraging participation in our flagship citizen science program, the BC Cetacean Sightings Network (BCCSN). The Haida Gwaii outreach and citizen science coordinator will support the efforts of the NCCRI and the BCCSN by: encouraging and responding to cetacean sightings reports, planning and undertaking outreach events, holding workshops for key marine user groups, and collecting data on humpback whales and the occurrence of marine mammal incidents.
