The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo Outreach & Research Associate VISTA member will build the capacity of Cleveland Metroparks Zoo by assisting with outreach, coordination, and relationship building to co-create conservation programming in Cleveland, Ohio. The Zoo will be working extensively in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, where 26.6% of children ages 0-17 and 17.9% of all people live in poverty. The Zoo’s targeted programming design will help alleviate poverty in this region. As a result of the VISTA member’s service, Cleveland Metroparks Zoo will design effective and valuable environmental conservation programming that builds upon the strengths and assets of 7 neighborhoods close to the Zoo in Cuyahoga County.
