Overview

We are looking for a creative and dynamic Communications Intern that has a flair for writing to contribute to the communications goals of BirdLife in Europe and Central Asia.

BirdLife Europe and Central Asia is the European and Central Asian Division of BirdLife International, and is one of the six regional offices of BirdLife International, a global Partnership of autonomous, national non-governmental conservation organisations, with a large grassroots membership in more than 115 countries and territories

BirdLife’s mission is to conserve birds, their habitats and global biodiversity.

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The purpose of the job is to assist the BirdLife ECA Secretariat with its communication work, giving support to work on a range of issues on the protection of birds & their habitats.

TASKS

The person will be assisting the team in a range of tasks including but not limited to:

  • Writing articles
  • Editing short and long-form texts for different BirdLife channels
  • Creating content for our social media accounts and helping manage them
  • Assist in various nature conservation and political campaigns run by BirdLife

QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED

Ideally, candidates should have:

  • At least a relevant Bachelor’s degree
  • Knowledge of and interest in environmental issues
  • Understanding of communication methods and channels
  • High levels of flexibility, dedication and sense of responsibility
  • Well organised and with attention to detail
  • A creative mindset

Due to the nature of the role, candidates should be able to read, write and speak English at a C2 level. Other EU languages are a merit.

Duration: 6-month Belgian contract
Working hours: full-time
Paid internship
