Intern will learn all aspects of rearing endangered Atlantic salmon from seven listed populations at a conservation hatchery.  Activities include: regular cleaning of rearing units, tanks and pools, rearing unit repairs, pressure washing rearing areas, grounds maintenance, cleaning and maintenance of public use areas and bathhouses, and other general maintenance as required.  Interns will also electrofish to collect juvenile Atlantic salmon, release juvenile and adult Atlantic salmon, transport adult Atlantic salmon from a trapping facility to the the hatchery, collect biological samples for disease screening and genetic characterization, feed juvenile and adult broodstock, monitor growth of future broodstock, maintain automated feeders, tag juveniles, and spawn ad
